The 2017 Mercury Music Festival is the second of what will be an annual celebration of jazz, blues, folk, world and acoustic music over three days in Mercury Bay. Top artists from New Zealand, Australia and the USA.

All performances over the weekend will take place in centrally located venues within walking distance of each other. Enjoy the cafes, restaurants, activities and fabulous accommodation that Whitianga has to offer with some world class entertainment to cap off a spectacular weekend.

All tickets are General Admission and provide open access to all Festival events through the weekend. Main concert events will take place at the Whitianga Town Hall and the Whitianga Hotel.  In addition to that there will be a feast of free events happening in and around the town.

The Festival will also be offering a series of workshops throughout the weekend on a range of skills. Presented by world class musicians and artists, they will cover a wide range of performance skills. Stagecraft, vocal skills, bass guitar, drumming styles and ukulele are just some of the workshops happening over the weekend. Visit the festival website to more information and to book your place in the workshop of your choice.

The force behind the music festival is Creative Mercury Bay, a charitable trust formed in 2012 to promote the performing arts in Whitianga and the wider Mercury Bay Area. CMB have been fortunate to have the Thames Coromandel District Council (TCDC) as a partner in creating this event. TCDC has committed a substantial amount of funding and promotional expertise to the festival to help make it a success from the beginning.

There is a large team of volunteers and helpers behind the scenes working to create this festival, as well as the sponsors and supporters from our local community.
