Jed Parsons

Miho was born in Hino City, Tokyo and grew up by the sea in Miyazaki and later in Christchurch, New Zealand.  She completed her Bachelor of Music degree in Flute Performance at the University of Canterbury, then moved to London for further study at the Trinity College of Music.  She worked for the National Orchestra of Malta for a short time before deciding to challenge her creativity and explore other musical possibilities. In 2008 she left for Cuba, studying flute and performing with members of Sones de Oriente, Kotumba, Sierra Maestra and Buena Vista Social Club in Havana and Santiago de Cuba.  Miho has also performed internationally with artists such as Nigel Kennedy, Jarvis Cocker, Ska Cubano and recorded a series of TV adverts with Iggy Pop.  After touring for WOMAD festivals in 2009, Miho returned to NZ and started composing and performing her own original music, debuting internationally at the SXSW showcase in Austin, Texas in 2010.
