2017 PerformanceJune 4, 4.55 pm – Ray White
Jemilah has grown up on Waiheke Island and has been singing since childhood and playing guitar since she was 14. Her style of music is acoustic singer/songwriter influenced by artists such as Ed Sheeran and Ben Howard. She attended the Mercury Bay Festival last year and got through to the semi-finals in the young guitarist competition. She has performed at Raglan, at restaurants and vineyards on the island as well as the local theatre on multiple occasions.
She feels strongly about what she writes about and thinks it is important to address issues that may not be noticed on a regular basis as to awaken an understanding of all types of people and their experiences. With professional music videos and recordings of live performances on youtube and facebook, she hopes to one day be known for her music.
